CAUSE & EFFECT
While a PHOTOJOURNALISM site was originally created in November 2022 via a different hosting site, which I found too complicated to navigate through self-editing this exbphoto.com, was launched 3 January 2024. As has been in the past, this site will continue to archive my photography through self-editing, as well as curate my body of work.
REGENERATED
Launched in April 2021 as my MAIN site. elvertxbarnes.com not only links to the former elvertbarnes.com as well as ongoing docu-projects dating back to 1992, but, features monthly archives from May 2021 through December 2023.
IN HINDSIGHT
When created in March 2008, the primary purpose of elvertbarnes.com was to organize and archive as much of my photography as possible, dating back to 1992. And to maintain current and future projects as needed. Hosted by Yahoo! Small Business, the Yahoo SiteBuilders format more than met my needs. When self-editing of that format was deactivated on 31 March 2021, while elvertbarnes.com will remain online, the elvertxbarnes.com was launched as the main site.
SOME HISTORY
In December 1991, my partner, Richard, surprised me with a Minolta camera as a Christmas gift. Since then, my photography has been about the documentation not only of my life but also of the times in which I have lived. A sometime journal writer, at the time , while vacationing on Fire Island with Richard over Labor Day Weekend 1992, I decided to integrate my photography with my writings.
